Sugared Pecans

Makes: About 4 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 dash salt
  • 4 cup large pecan halves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

  1. Mix the sugar, milk, butter, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat to a soft ball stage (about 235°F).
  3. Add the pecans and vanilla, mix well, and spread on a platter to cool.
  4. Separate the pecans with a fork.
  5. Store in an airtight container.
