The Best Ever Brownies

Ingredients

Brownies:

  • 4 (1 oz) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 lb butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Cane River Pecan Meal
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chopped Cane River Pecans

Icing:

  • 1 stick (8 tbsp) butter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 lb confectioners’ sugar, sifted

Directions:

  1. Prep: Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly butter a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. Melt: In a heavy saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over very low heat. Gradually beat in both sugars until fully dissolved.
  3. Mix: Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition. Stir in flour, pecan meal, vanilla, salt, and chopped pecans.
  4. Bake: Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 30–35 minutes, or until a tester comes out clean. Cool completely.
  5. Icing: In a bowl, whisk together butter, cocoa, honey, cream, and sugar until smooth. Adjust with extra sugar or cream if needed.
  6. Finish: Spread icing over cooled brownies. Cut into squares and serve.
